Since day one, Margo has embodied a creative adventurous spirit. When asked how she would describe herself in three words, she chooses “creative”, “unprecedented”, and “forever evolving”. In 2017, she shocked the climbing world by becoming the first woman to ever climb 5.15 (9a+), and then solidified herself in the history of the sport by completing two more routes of the difficult grade. Margo has gone on to not only continue establishing first female ascents of some of the most difficult rock climbs around the globe, but also pursue her passions outside of the sport. Although Margo is best known for her unparalleled tenacity in athletics—by way of her Championship wins and groundbreaking ascents— art and creative expression have always been core parts of her being. In 2024, she released her first single ‘karma’ (written in 2023). Later in the year she dropped her first independent EP ‘Notes To You’, a collection of early songs she wrote from 2022 and 2023. Apart from climbing and making music, Margo’s world collides with that of fashion. In 2017, Margo modeled for her first campaign for The House of Christian Dior. Since then, she has continued to dip her toe into the world of modeling, being one of the faces of DIOR VIBE, and DIOR GEM, as well as modeling occasionally for other brands. In Margo’s free time, she dives into her education both at University and independently, with a focus on biology, ecology, and health. Her passion for the natural world is a common thread that links all of her passions and pursuits.
